When it is time for a thorough detox or tolerance break, you want to get the most out of every day of abstinence. The tips below apply to whether or not you choose to use a permanent THC detox or if you are going at it on your own.
The most important thing is to stop using THC immediately. That also goes for Delta8, Delta10, THCa, and anything with even trace amounts of THC like Full and Broad Spectrum CBD. You would think that I wouldn’t bother mentioning this but as a detox coach, I have had plenty of clients that didn’t quite grasp the importance of stopping the intake of THC.
Hydration
Unsweetened green tea, 100% cranberry juice, and good ole’ H20 all help your body clean itself. What is important is that you are getting the right amount of fluids daily to get your body working more efficiently. The rule of thumb is a minimum of 100 ounces of fluids a day but for those over 200 pounds, you want to consume at least half your weight in ounces every day. If you are 240 pounds, you want to consume at least 120 ounces of fluids every day until you are finished cleansing.
Diet
Low Fat, Low Carbohydrates, and Low Sugar. For proteins, grilled or baked chicken, turkey, or fish work best. Fruits and vegetables are always good and if you like salads, limit dressings to low-calorie diet non-dairy based dressing or a light oil or balsamic. Avoid salt, pepper, herbs and spices, dairy, carbohydrates, and starches like bread, pasta, cereals, rice and potatoes. Stay away from fried foods, soft drinks, sports drinks, processed foods, and fatty foods.
Exercise
There is a difference between getting 100% of the THC out of your system and having your system below a detectable level at a particular day and time. If you are going to go the 100% route, go ahead and exercise and sweat as much as you can. Will that get you to 100% clean any faster? The short answer is,” Not really”. I like to use the rule of thumb that asks the question,” How much do you exercise normally?”. Whatever exercise you have been doing for the last several months, is what you should be doing during the cleanse. If your only exercise is changing the channel, well, do that. If your job or regular activity has you sweating puddles, there is really nothing you can do about that. It just might mean you could have to cleanse might take a little longer.
Other Toxins
For some, this is going to be tough. Your body doesn’t really discriminate between one toxin or another when it comes to cleaning up. If you want the THC out, removing other toxins from the equation makes all the difference. That said, you want to avoid; nicotine, alcohol, and other drugs as well as over-the-counter medications. If you are on a prescription, continue with it exactly as directed but you still need to get the other toxins out of the game. In the case of “OtherToxins”, if you can’t avoid them altogether, less is certainly more. Other toxins just get in the body’s way of doing what we want it to do.
Side Effects
Finally, some good news. The better you adhere to the sage advice above, your cleanse will be successful all that much faster and get more of the benefits of a good cleanse. The more you weigh, the more weight you will lose. Stick to these tips and you will also have more energy, your skin will be thanking you for all the extra hydration and you should just feel good overall. There are a lot of good healthy reasons to do a detox and if you want or have to do a cleanse, then get the most out of it.
